Sasol Marathon
When: Saturday, 02 February 2013
Where: The Sasol Marathon and Half Marathon takes places in Sasolburg at the DP de Villiers Stadium.
.
Although this course is mainly flat there are a few gradual gradients and a fairly challenging 900 metre long hill in the last third of the lap. The route is run through the residential, industrial and commercial areas of Sasolburg.
The marathon is two lap of the half marathon route. There is also a 10km run and walkers are welcome to enter both the 21.1km and 10km routes provided they complete the course within the cut off times (3 hours for the half marathon and 2 hours for the 10km).
A Comrades and Two Oceans qualifier, one of the Sasol Marathon’s greatest draw cards is the relatively flat terrain of the route, which allows serious runners to achieve their fastest times. There is also a 5km fun run for those who want to take it easy.
