Walter Sisulu National Botanical Gardens
Brief Description: The natural vegetation of the area is known as the "Rocky Highveld Grassland" and consists of grassland and savanna, with dense bush in valleys and along streams. There is a geological trail and several short walks for visitors. The National Botanical Gardens organise a large number of lectures and garden tours throughout the year.
Brief Description: The National Botanical Gardens of Pretoria is 76 ha in size, much of which is cultivated exclusively with South African plants. Amongst the collections of plants are a cycad garden, succulent garden and aloe plants. The visitor may view the fascinating natural vegetation of the rocky ridge from the paved nature trails. Of particular importance is the glasshouse collection of plants from the west coast of South Africa, Namibia, and Madagascar. The garden is also the home of the Pretoria National Herbarium.
