1 cup and 1 level tablespoon flour 1 egg
125 g butter
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
¼ cup brown sugar
½ cup chopped nuts
½ cup white sugar
¼ teaspoon sodium bicarbonate
50 g dark chocolate (cut into small pieces)
Cream the butter and sugar together. Add the egg and vanilla and beat thoroughly. Sift the dry ingredients together and add to the mixture, folding in the nuts and chocolate. Drop from a teaspoon onto greased baking sheet and bake in oven at 350ºF for 10 to 12 minutes.

2 cups of oats
½ cup sugar
1 cup flour
1 teaspoon sodium bicarbonate
1 cup coconut
1 tablespoon syrup
225 g margarine
1 egg
Melt the butter and syrup together and add the sodium bicarbonate. Add this mixture to the mixed dry ingredients and mix well. Bake in a moderate oven for 30 minutes.
